UTM Builder

Which link / version (A/B tests)
Segment or keyword

What is the UTM Builder?

UTM tags tell Google Analytics and other tools exactly where each visitor came from — which ad, which email, which post, which partner. Without them, traffic shows up as “direct” and you can’t tell what works.

Build tagged links for one URL, a whole list, or every link in a page’s or an email’s HTML, with presets for common channels and clean, consistent naming.

How to use the UTM Builder

  1. Choose a mode: one link, many links or all links in HTML.
  2. Pick a channel preset or type the source and medium.
  3. Enter a campaign name, and optionally content (which link or version) and term.
  4. Click Build tracked links, then copy or download them.

Understanding your results

utm_source
Where the traffic comes from — facebook, google, newsletter, partner name.
utm_medium
The type of traffic — cpc, social, email, affiliate.
utm_campaign
The campaign or launch name. Use the same name everywhere for one campaign.

Frequently asked questions

What is a UTM builder?

A tool that adds tracking parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign…) to a link so analytics can show where visits came from.

Should UTM tags be lowercase?

Yes — analytics treats Facebook and facebook as different sources. Lowercase with dashes keeps reports clean.

Can I give affiliates UTM links?

Yes — use the partner’s name as the source and “affiliate” as the medium to compare partners.
